Why I Became a Therapist

I love being able to watch people use the methods and the science to make their lives what they always imagined they could be.

Expertise:

Anxiety Treatment

As an emotions-focused therapist, one of my favorite things is to teach people how to ADAPTIVELY worry rather than become weighted down with anxiety. Using calming strategies for the body while learning to stay realistic and compassionate in your way of thinking can be easier than you think.

Couples Therapy

Being part of a couple can be complicated. Therapy can help you two learn how to be comfortable seeing your relationship as a safe-haven, rather than someplace you have to walk on eggshells.

DBT Therapy

Some of my favorite clients are those with personality disorders. While you may be feeling hopeless or helpless, DBT skills were created just for you. DBT melds acceptance skills, mood regulation, values-driven behavior, and rational thinking into a framework that is easy to rely on.

Depression Treatment

Depression is something that touches everyone in some way or another. I feel passionate about being able to help the whole system, from the people suffering from the changes in their mind and body, to the loved ones who care about them.

Evaluations

I love being able to provide assessments for people, especially since the need is so great right now.

Emotions-Focused Therapy

De-mystifying emotions has been the inspiration for my first book (Not The Enemy: Understanding and Using the Gift of Emotions). One of my passions is helping people learn to understand that their emotions are simply signals of unmet needs. It's my privilege to help people understand how to take the next steps to meet these needs.
